A daily warm welcome awaits each child in the Pre-Prep Department.The Pre-Prep staff pride themselves on the care and support they give to all the children.Backed by statements from thelast ISI report we are confident your child will feel both happy and secure in our care.Establishing this security is vital in order that ‘happy' learning can take place.We focus on creating an safe place which is also conducive to investigation and exploratory learning.Each session is carefully planned to excite and interest each child.There is particular emphasis on multi sensory methods- see/hear/feel/do!Each child is identified as an individual -their progress and development being regularly discussed at staff meetings.Our basic rules contribute to the ethos of the Department - everyone matters, everyone cares.Our Sixth Form facilities include two large study rooms,a library, a science laboratory and a common roomStudents are not required to wear uniform although there is a dress code of smart casual or business suits. Sixth formers enjoy a number of privileges throughout the school and are encourage to play a full part in school life and to take on responsibilities including prefects and house captains.There is a large variety of extra-curricular activities on offer to the girls and most courses offer the opportunity for overseas travelor schoolvisits.St Gabriel's Sixth Form offers students the opportunity to work in small classesand the girls enjoyclose working relationships with the teaching staff. We offer over 25 subjects at AS and A level: the course and syllabus of each are described in our Sixth Form Prospectus.The Junior department is a busy, challenging and exciting environment . At this stage the pupils move from being taught mainly by one teacher for all subjects to being taught by specialists in each subject, and are challenged to work in a more independent manner.This period of the pupils' development is key in the successful transition to a secondary school and we put a great deal of effort into making sure that the needs of each child are addressed in this process.Above all, theJunior departmentis a welcoming place where the development of individual strengths and talents is at the heart of everything that we do.
