Over the past decade, The Chelsea Group of Children has helped hundreds of children become happy, capable and confident in their learning environment. Our aim is to provide the best possible program of education for children who do not fit comfortably into the mainstream classroom.Many of the children at CGC have near-typical academic and social skills and will return to mainstream classrooms. Those with more complex learning difficulties will move on to Special Schools and will leave Chelsea Group with more resilience and confidence in the classroom setting; able to more fully realise the potential for a happy and successful education.Just as each child is unique in strengths and weaknesses, so too are our goals for the child's achievements. We have developed an international reputation for the highly individualised educational and therapeutic plan we create for each child.The IEPs are written by the team of therapists and specialist teachers working within the school and based on the observation and analysis of each student's behaviour and performance. All therapists work within the classroom and in continued consultation with the teachers to create a complete therapeutic environment. Our goal is to meet each student's behavioural, emotional, and social needs as well as help develop his or her cognitive abilities.There are no shortcuts in acquiring the fundamental building blocks which are the core processing capacities; the way a child receives and comprehends information and how he communicates and thinks. These basic processes underlie all learning and must be taught to children within small groups and with much one to one tutoring. These essentials to the development of thinking and problem solving are the explicit focus of the dynamic and interactive teaching at Chelsea Group.
