Course Description
This new MSc by Research enables students to pursue a one year individual programme of research. Theoretical particle physics involves the study of the most microscopic constituents of matter and the forces that govern their interactions. Currently particle physics is at the brink of a revolution based on the results that are emerging from the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. This is an era where particle physics theory and experiment are coming together to build the most fundamental description of how our universe works. The Theoretical Particle Physics Group at Swansea has considerable expertise in many aspects of theoretical particle physics and would be an excellent choice for someone who wants to contribute to the global effort to uncover the working of the universe under the guidance of an expert. This MSc by Research would normally terminate after a year. However, this first year of research can also be used in a progression to Year 2 of a PhD degree.
