Course Description

Six-Month Post Production is an intensive course for students looking for an alternative to traditional academic routes, with hands-on experience. The programme equips you with highly marketable skills across a variety of visual media and covers the core expertise and technology to succeed in a post production role, including editing, colour grading and visual effects. This practical course prepares you for common challenges that a post production specialist faces every day including:

  • Introduction Data Management Processes
  • Video Compression Encoding and Distribution

EDITING AVID

  • Creative editing techniques and the art of storytelling
  • Introduction to AVID Media Composer
  • Introduction to adding Post Production effects
  • Audio management

COLOUR GRADING

  • Colour theory and colour correction
  • Colour grading and look development e.g. shooting footage raw and applying a style
  • Picture finishing skills

VISUAL EFFECTS ESSENTIALS

  • Titling and motion graphics
  • Introduction to digital compositing
  • Working with Greenscreen
  • Painting out elements from filmed material e.g. scene salvage
  • Invisible effects – changing the look of the shots e.g. shot stabilisation

Entry Requirements

Minimum Age: 18 at start of course

The course is open enrollment, and there are no entry requirements.
