Course Description
The University of Essex is one of the UK?s leading academic institutions, ranked ninth nationally for research excellence following the last Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). The School of Health and Human Sciences offers an interdisciplinary environment reflecting current trends and cutting-edge developments in the fields of health and social care. In the last RAE, our research was submitted with the University's Department of Sociology, which was ranked first in the UK. This course offers a structured method of continuing professional development aimed at enhancing clinical research skills. The course comprises of two taught modules in research methodology in the first year and a research dissertation to be completed by the end of the third year. Research can be carried out in any area of counselling psychology subject to the availability of suitably qualified supervisors.
