Course Description
Health Psychology is a relatively new and rapidly growing discipline, concerned with the application of theories and methods of psychology to issues of health, illness and the provision of health care. The Professional Doctorate is designed to provide a professional training in theory, research and practice in health psychology and to equip trainees with the professional competencies and practical skills appropriate to a career in health psychology. Applicants should be working full time in an appropriate health setting, with agreed release to attend training schools and supervision meetings over the three year period. This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and provides Stage 2 training and eligibility for the status of Chartered Psychologist.
