VTCT Diploma in Indian Head Massage Level: Level 3 Part-time - Thursday 6.00pm-9.00pm How long is the coursetraining? This is a 17 week course. What will I be doing on the coursetraining? Champissage - Indian Head Massage traditionally takes place in families in India. Historically it is believed to encourage the growth of healthy hair as an aid to grooming and give the effect of relaxation. The massage can be practised on fully clothed individuals within the work environment. The course includes study of the anatomy and physiology of the neck, head and torso, the basic massage movements and their application and effects together with consultative techniques and the production of case studies. Practical application is learnt on fellow students. Once you are competent, you will progress to working on paying members of the public in preparation for assessment at the end of the course.This is a very intensive course and success depends on home practise and study. Theoretical subjects are taught in class. However, home study is essential for some anatomy and physiology study and project work, as is constant practice of skills between classes. Candidates who have not achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards within the last two years at the start of the course will need to take this additional qualification units VR2 and VR74. There is an additional cost of ?15 for these units and the certificate is only valid for three years. Start date: 24th September 2009 or 25th February 2010. In our brand new facilities at our Hele Road Centre which is very welcoming and busy with professional Hairdressing Salons, Beauty Salons and Spa to support our full time and part time students. What are the entry requirements? You will have already completed a massage qualification. Students without any anatomyphysiology knowledge will have a substantial amount of study to cover at home each week. Applicants must be 18+. What can I do after this coursetraining? This qualification will enable you to work in the industry providing head massage. Additional courses are available to you and include aromatherapy, reflexology, beauty therapy and sports massage. You need to fill in an application form for this course. You will be interviewed by our teaching staff (either in a group or individually) since it's important that you understand the content and commitment to the course. At this interview you will be able to enrol and pay for the course if it is suitable for you. How do I study the coursetraining and how will I be assessed? Initially practical classes allow candidates to develop skills on fellow students. Once a level of competence is reached, clients are to be used for case studies and assessment. Candidates are assessed practically, theoretically and orally in all areas. Complete portfolios are verified and should include - assessment books, case studies, projects, and theoretical papers. There is an end test paper with multiple choice questions. Assessments completed on paying clients. What facilities are there? Our well equipped beauty salons are Dermalogica clinics which offer a fantastic range of treatments which include facials, body and sports massage. We also offer an excellent range of holistic treatments of Aromatherapy, Swedish massage, and Reflexology. The learning resource centre provides all students with access to the internet as well as specialist information. What will the coursetraining cost me?
