Course Description
This course is designed for handlers and dogs that have begin their gun dog training and learnt the basics. It is a nice follow up from the previous course (Introduction to Gun Dog Training). It will include demonstrations (if required), a secure environment for the dogs and handlers to work in and advice and guidance of what to be working on over the coming months to continue improving. The leader of this course has over eight years experience working a variety of breeds beating, picking up and stalking. This course is perfect for handlers and dogs looking to extend their skills with retrieving e.g. blind retrieves, using hunting skills. They will also be introduced to working from a distance directing, recall and stopping. If appropriate and ready, the handlers and dogs may also be introduced to gun shot (this will be a choice of the owner). This course is open to any breed of dog that has good basic obedience training. The course will include the following: Different types of retrieving # Practice and training # Heel work and working in front of handler # Behavioural solutions and adjustments (if necessary) # Recall and staywait training # Work at a distance # Introduction to distance work (working towards controlled beating and hunting) # Gun shot training The course is held for two hours a day over two weeks. 170410 - 10.30 - 12.30 240410 - 10.30 - 12.30
