NVQ LEVEL 2 IN BEAUTY THERAPY 2 Evenings and Saturday morning A One Year Programme Of Study - City & Guilds This course is geared towards students who are highly motivated, independent learners who are able to carry out theory and some practical at home. This one year programme covers all aspects of basic beauty therapy and consists of: - Maintain health and safety in the salon - Promote products and services - Improve and maintain facial skin conditions - Remove hair using waxing techniques - Provide manicure treatments - Provide pedicure treatments - Provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments - Provide make-up treatment The programme is run over two evenings a week, Monday & Wednesday 5.00 pm - 9.00 pm, and a Saturday moring 9.00 am - 1.00 pm over 38 weeks. How Will I Learn? You will experience a variety of teaching and learning styles which involve a combination of: - demonstrations - practical work - team work - theory based learning These will be delivered in fully equipped salons and classrooms. What Do I Need To Study This Subject? Three GCSEs at grade C or above. For mature students (19+), alternative entry qualifications or experience will be considered. Initially you will be required to attend a guidance interview. You should have a good record of attendance, punctuality, good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Full attendance is required at all times. Dress Code You will be required to purchase a uniform from college, details of this are on the separate sheet and will be discussed at the interview. How Will I Be Assessed? You can be assessed on your developing skills at any time. Your assessment will be ongoing using a variety of techniques which includes oral questions, observation, written questions, assignments and portfolio of evidence. Continued Over Page.......... What Will I Gain At The End Of The Programme? You will gain a City and Guilds Certificate for NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy. What Could I Do At The End Of The Programme? The programme content will provide you with basic training which could lead you into more advanced skills within NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy, Holistic Studies or employment. Any Other Monies Tuition Fees and assessmentexam fees for 19+ students are listed on the separate sheet. There are various methods of payment which will be discussed at the interview. Students on benefits may be exempt from these, further information will be available at the interview.
