Course Description
This course is still recruiting for 2011 entry. This course is for health and social care professionals, therapists, counsellors and workers in the voluntary sector. There are two approaches to the course. The practitioner element is for training sexual and relationship psychotherapists. It includes specific training for supervised clinical work, helping couples and individuals with sexual and relationship difficulties. You work in co-therapy with experienced and nationally accredited therapists, or on your own. The module only option is learning only. It does not involve direct client work and has a separate certification. This is a professional qualification training route to United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) registration. Seminars take place at the Porterbrook Clinic which specialises in sexual and relationship problems. Studying at Porterbrook Clinic gives you the opportunity to work in an internationally recognised centre of excellence for assessing and treating sexual and relationship difficulties. You work alongside colleagues with a diverse range of experiences and benefit from an academic and clinical qualification when you successfully complete the course.
