Course Description
This course will provide you with the techniques to evaluate manage and improve service, operational and supply chain processes and conduct market analysis. You will gain the knowledge of how to evaluate and manage appropriate enabling technologies and use enterprise resource planning systems in order to improve the operational functions of a business. You will also develop a wide knowledge on strategy development and design. Course structure: The course is modular - each student takes a combination of core and elective modules. 10 modules are studied and assessed in total. Modules consist of nominally 40 hours direted tuition in the form of lectures, seminars, group work, presentations, case studies and e-learning. This is covered in a full-emersion, intensive week. Modules are assessed by Post Module Assignment - this is typically a further 40 -60 hours of work. The taught modules account for 50% of the Master's degree. A major individual research project, submitted in the form of a dissertation accounts for the other 50%. This should take approximately 900 hours of study time. An oral examination is held upon completion. The core modules for the MSc Supply Chain & Logistics Management include: Financial Analysis & Control Systems Logistics & Operations Management Organisations, People & Performance Problem Solving with Statistics Supply Chain Management And at least two from: Procurement & Inventory Management Storage & Warehouse Techniques Transportation Techniques & Management Up to three elective modules can also be chosen - a full list of elective modules is available on the website.
