Course Description

This course provides advanced training in the field of Pharmaceutical Science and Engineering for both science and engineering graduates. It enables graduates from both disciplines to convert to a specialisation in Pharmaceutical Engineering and significantly enhances career prospects in the Pharmaceutical industry. The nature of the course ensures that upon successful completion students will be able to work, and effectively communicate, cross-functionally in both primary and secondary manufacturing. Finally, it also prepares graduates wishing to progress to PhD study. Sample taught modules include: Process Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Batch Process Engineering, Drugs, Processes, Products and People, Pharmaceutical Product Formulation, Pharmaceutical Analytical Techniques, Chemical Reaction Processes, Organic Synthesis for Fine Chemical and Pharmaceutical Synthesis, Physical Organics Process Chemistry, Advances in Chemical Engineering, Case Studies in Fine Chemical and Pharmaceutical Synthesis. This course is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and satisfies the requirements of further learning for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
