Course Description
Medical biotechnology offers both conventional and innovative solutions to problems associated with clinical, surgical and medical situations. Modern molecular biology and genetics provide novel techniques for the detection and modification of micro-organisms for clinical purposes, for the understanding of the mode of action of antibiotic resistance mechanisms and how they may be evaded, for informed drug design, and in the use of genetic modification in the development of novel treatment regimes.
