Course Description
AIMS This programme is aimed at numerate graduates who wish to work in the international shipping, logistics and port industries. It provides you with knowledge and skills relating to: shipping markets logistics and supply chain management investment appraisal insurance financial modelling and forecasting techniques risk management and international finance and capital markets. PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION You take a selection of taught modules (100 credits) and undertake a dissertation (80 credits). Compulsory modules (90 credits) typically include: marine transport and economics research skills design and analysis of marine transport systems ship market analysis and risk management marine liability insurance and law the international safety management (ISM) code marine transport business maritime logistics management and communication. You also select one optional module (10 credits) from other marine and management modules that may include: human resource management supply chain management marine production technology surveying.
