Course Description
Project management has grown into more than just a specialist subject in the education of managers, engineers and others. Its place as a mainstream management discipline in many organisations is widely supported through academia, the government and both public and private sectors. This course is a part-time programme designed for practicing project managers, or those in relevant employment in any industry or commercial sector, who lead or act as part of a team progressing project issues from initiation through to completion. Students will study a combination of taught and work-based units. Taught units are: Time and Quality Planning People and Organisation Development Project Finance Project Systems and Methods Research Methods Work-based units are: Problem Solving Risk Management Commercial Management Project Environment Dissertation The Research Methods unit will provide an introduction to the research or work-based project. The dissertation will be a supervised investigation into a specific project management and leadership issue proposed by the student. The taught units are delivered in a series of block three day modules and work-based units in the form of evening masterclasses.
