Course information: This Masters course - the first and currently only one of its kind in Scotland - is designed to stretch your persuasive skills in visual and verbal communication. You will be working to real agency briefs, meeting key industry figures and creating advertising from day one. This is a hands-on intensive course, designed in close collaboration with the Scottish Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. There are masterclasses by senior advertising professionals and a two week work placement to give you valuable experience of agency life. You will develop your creative skills and judgement, explore the theories behind advertising and make contacts that can help you break into this highly creative, exciting industry. This course is studied full-time over one year. You will learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, masterclasses, and through independent study. Subjects studied include: Theory and Contexts of Advertising Communication Creative Toolkit Writing and Visualising Advertisements Campaign Creation Assessing and Presenting your Work in Advertising Advertising Agency Placement Dissertation. Career prospects: Competition is fierce in the advertising industry. While a qualification is no guarantee of employment, this unique course will give you a head start in your chosen career. Creative directors and other senior industry professionals have a strong interest in the course, and are keen to find new talent. Your agency placement will expose you to employers and generate a valuable set of creative ideas that will form the basis of your folio, or ?book?. Recent graduates have developed interests not only in creative careers but in both account management and media planningbuying.

The entry requirement for this course is a UK Honours degree at 2:1 or above. We look for applicants to have a background in any discipline in order to be eligible for the programme.
