Course Description

This course is supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPRSC)and is designed to provide a training package geared towards training industrial computational fluid dynamics users for the UK industry. The flexible nature in which it is delivered allows this programme to be suitable for applicants from industry. Taught modules are integrated with laboratory and computational work. Sample modules include: incompressible flow compressible flow and reaction fronts and ignition finite differences visualisations and high performance computing laminar and turbulent flows commercial CFD software and finite elements and boundary elements. As well as studying taught modules, students also undertake a research project which is chosen by the student in consultation with a supervisor. Sample taught modules include: Advanced Commercial Software, Incompressible Flow, Reaction Fronts and Fortran, Finite Differences and Control Volume, Turbulence and Two phase Flow, Scientific Computation, Finite Elements and Boundary Elements.
