Course Description

This well established course is offered through the postgraduate taught courses division within the National Heart and Lung Institute and is mainly taught on the Royal Brompton Hospital site, London. The course is modular and pursued part-time over two calendar years. The course is designed to provide up to date knowledge and assit you identify the evidence upon which to base both current and future practice. Subjects covered include: cardiac andor respiratory specialist practice (including modules on caring for the patient with heart failure or cystic fibrosis), physical assessment, resuscitation, policy and practice, applied healthcare research (both qualitative and quantitative), evidence-based health care, healthcare ethics and a dissertation. The course is designed for nurses wishing to further their carers as clinical and academic practitioners and provides a platform from which to pursue a PhD.
