Course Description

Our MSc Accounting and Finance is designed for future accountants who want to be a step ahead when starting a career.

This approach is perfect if you already hold exemptions for ACCA Fundamental* papers but haven’t completed the whole level. Flexible entry points allow you to join the programme at the relevant stage. Providing you have passed or hold exemptions from those ACCA papers.

Successful completion of this course will earn you a Master’s degree and the status of being ACCA exam qualified, which is one of the key requirements to becoming an Affiliate member.

The full programme consists of the Advanced Diploma in Accounting (ADAF) and the MSc Accounting and Finance. 

Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Finance [ACCA Route] (18 months)

Term 1

  • Accountant in Business (30 credits)
  • Management Accounting (30 credits)
  • Financial Accounting (30 credits)

Term 2

  • Corporate and Business Law (40 credits)
  • Performance Management (40 credits)
  • Taxation (40 credits)

Term 3

  • Financial Reporting (40 credits)
  • Audit and Assurance (40 credits)
  • Financial Management (40 credits)

MSc Accounting and Finance (12-month programme)

Term 1

Compulsory

  • Strategic Business Leader (30 credits)
  • Strategic Business Reporting (30 credits)

Term 2

  • Business Project (Assessed in term 4)
  • Principles of Data Science for Business (15 credits)

Term 3

Elective – Choose two from four modules (60 credits)

  • Advanced Financial Management
  • Advanced Performance Management
  • Advanced Taxation
  • Advanced Audit and Assurance

Term 4

  • Business Project (from term 2 – 30 credits)
  • Digital Leadership (15 credits)

 

Entry Requirements

Those wishing to apply for this programme will require:

  • Two A-Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent (grade 4/C or above) in five separate subjects, including maths and English; or
  • A Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) qualification; or
  • Passes/exemptions in any ACCA Knowledge and Skills paper (formerly AB-FM) without completing the whole level

If you have passed or completed the ACCA Fundamental Level, you can enter our MSc Accounting and Finance and start at the Professional Level.

A deposit of £250 will need to be paid within 48 hours of accepting your offer, in order to secure your place.
