These qualifications are designed to support managers in the development of management coaching and mentoring skills, and identifying the links between coaching, mentoring and the achievement of business goals. What do I need? The majority of learners at this level would be expected to have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment. There are no formal entry requirements for these qualifications, but you are required to demonstrate that you can operate at a senior level. What will I study? We live in an hour of global change. This is an opportunity for learners on the course to develop existing skills and equip themselves to lead people around them. This level is equivalent to the first year of a masters degree. Registration with the Chartered Management Institute as the awarding body is required, this will be completed on enrolment. Description The course has been designed with the busy manager very much the focus. Attendance at the workshops, access to material over the internet, the college intranet and collaboration with the tutor group is vital. Programme consists of: 6 modules - The delivery method is planned over three workshops, each lasting for three days. The format includes 1 x 3 day workshop followed by an Action Learning Set 5 weeks later to understand the requirements of the assignment. The modules covered include: Introduction to managment coaching Management coaching and mentoring and the organisation Management coaching and mentoring skills Management coaching practice Management mentoring Management of action learning At each level of qualification you can gain an award (1 module), a certificate (2 or more modules), or the diploma (the full qualification). Materials A list of books to which you can refer will be provided at the start of your studies by your tutor. Part of the course will be covered using distance learning materials and guidance from the tutors. Where will I study? Baltic Campus You'll be based at our fantastic ?39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas. How will I be assessed? Method of Assessment The Chartered Management Institute awards professional qualifications that demand high standards of knowledge, understanding, reasoning and judgment, coupled with clarity of expression. With this in mind our approach to assessment is by the use of work-based assignments providing evidence that meets specific and rigorous assessment criteria. One assignment will be assessed externally by the institute. A major work-based project has to be completed before the end of the course.
