The training course and manual will take you through the following areas: - Biomass Heating Systems: Technical Overview - Chimney requirements - Conducting a site assessment - Determining system sizes - Fuel Characteristics, Supply and Combustion - Fuel storage systems - Health & Safety and Fire prevention - Hydraulic systems - Introduction to woody biomass heating and its context within the renewable energy centre - Installation of woody biomass systems - Operation and Maintenance - System costs, funding and government policy - System commissioning and handover to client - Regulations and Standards Who the course is for The course is targeting candidates who have a number of years?? experience in plumbing or conventional heating engineering. How you will study The course is delivered in the College?? s ??-Renewable Energy and Sustainability Centre for Wales (RESCW) based at Rhos-on-Sea. The RESCW centre houses indoor rigs and equipment to help candidates experience the technologies first hand. An experienced lecturer will take you through the course material giving you the chance to ask questions throughout and gain valuable knowledge in the modules above.
