Security matters. Because it matters, its study demands the development of complex analytical skills supported by cutting edge research as well as innovative and creative teaching techniques. This programme has been designed to provide students with the elements to become world-class global security analysts. The course is intended for UK, EU, and overseas students and offers direct applications for policy-makers, risk professionals, and students seeking to pursue an academic path. The overall objective of the programme is to help students unleash their curiosity on learning and researching security. Taught both as MA and as MRes (ESRC-recognised), it is designed to ?in-SPIRE? critical thinking for the analysis of a complex world. Its uniqueness lies on a creative approach to teaching and research. The learning activities of the core modules are designed to apply theoretical approaches to current global security events. Teaching will also be complemented by academic-trips intended to provide students with an opportunity to experience in situ security analysis. It is planned that some of the lectures may be taught at settings close to Keele University, for example such as the Secret Nuclear Bunker at Hack Green, one of England?s medieval cathedrals, and a major international transportation hub.
