Course Description
Equine Studies -FdA This course is ideal for those who wish to combine degree study with a passion for horses. Students develop skills and knowledge in equine, equine science and business allowing them to broaden their career opportunities in the equine industry. Course modules are at two levels. First level modules provide a solid foundation in equine science, horse anatomy, business and the horse industry. Intermediate modules broaden, deepen, and consolidate knowledge and cover equine behaviour and training, marketing and management. Core Modules Include Equine Anatomy and Physiology Equine Business Management Feeding and Training the Horse Foundations of Equine Science Horse Industry Marketing Foundations Professional and Academic Development Research Methods Work Related Project Marketing Management and Communications Business Finance Foundations of Business Optional Modules Include Stable Management Business Information Systems Equine Sports Science Equitation Coaching International Marketing Foundations of Equitation Teaching Principles of Event Management Starting and Growing a Business Sward and Estate Management Equine Reproduction Equine Sports Science Equine Health and Therapy People Management Career opportunities include yard managementownership, equine marketer, rehabilitation centre assistant, racecourse administration assistant and equine transport supervisor. Students can also progress to the final year of the Colleges BA in Equine Studies. On successful completion of this course, a full classified BA (Hons) Equine Studies may be gained through distance learning, which requires no further attendance at College.
