C&G Motorcycle Maintenance & Repair Level 2 (I) ACE0001 Is it for me? Yes, if you're passionate about motor cycles and want to learn the skills needed to work in the trade or go on to higher level study. The course is designed to develop a sound understanding of Motor Cycle maintenance and service. What do I need? GCSEs in Maths, Science and English, grades D-E, and a genuine interest in motor cycles and their repair and maintenance. What will I study? You will study practical skills in motor cycle maintenance, repair and service, using our industry standard equipment and autotronics suite. Where will I study? Skills Academy for Automotive, Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics. Our purpose built ?5.5million centre is a business led facility with state-of-the-art resources and equipment including; spray booths, a rolling road, a welding workshop, and driving simulators for cars and forklift trucks. How will I be assessed? Assessment will be based on the requirements of City & Guilds, which will consist of 8 Units: 1 Contribute to good workplace house keeping 2. Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety 3. Maintain positive working relations 14. Carry out routine vehicle maintenance 15. Remove and replace engine units amd components 16. Remove and replace aux electrical units and components 17. Remove and replace chassis units 42. Remove and replace non welded non structural motorcycle body panels How will I be taught? All staff are from the relevant industrial background with qualifications in their specialisation as well as teaching certificates. What qualification will I get? City & Guilds VRQ (Vocational related qualification) 4101 Motor Cycle Maintenance and additionality functional skills. Can I go on to further study? Yes, you could go on to study for a modern apprenticeship or Level 3 course What are the career opportunities? You could go straight into work as an apprentice in the motor cycle service and repair industry. Does it include key skills? Yes this course includes functional skills:- ICT, numeracy and literacy (level 1). How do I apply? You can drop in to our Baltic Campus to complete an application form.
