To prepare students for a career in art and design and provide the qualifications and experience needed to progress to a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design. Content Practical skills like drawing, painting, computer and design work are studied. Most of the working week is spent in an art studio doing project work. There are also weekly lectures to introduce the art and design work of others. There is the opportunity to develop key skills and do GCSE retakes if necessary.

At least one of the following:- - A BTEC Foundation Certificate in an Art related subject or, - 4 GCSEs at grade D or above including an Art or Design related subject (not including Expressive Arts) You will also need to show art and design ability and

There are no exams. Work is assessed regularly throughout the course using two types of assessment: - one to one meetings with lecturers with the opportunity to discuss progress. – formal assessments where work is submitted for grading.
