Biology/Human Biology AS/A Level Overview The Biology A Level will develop your knowledge of cells, organs, the treatment of disease and human evolution. Description Understanding biology is the key to understanding the development of life. Finding cures for diseases, tackling environmental issues and solving crimes through forensics are just some of the important roles a biologist can play in society. Through this course you will develop a wealth of knowledge on cells, organs, the treatment of disease and human evolution. These are a small example of the areas covered on this Biology course. How long is the course? The AS takes one year to complete. The full A Level (A2) take a further year of study. How will I be assessed? Examinations and coursework. What will I study? You will cover topical issues such as disease, DNA structure and the environment. What else can I do? This A Level would combine well with Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Psychology or Geography. What does the course lead to? A Levels are a good qualification to attain for progression onto University or onto an academic career.
