Course Description
Our degree in public relations and communications will teach you how to manage the reputations of different types of organisation (businesses, public sector and NGOs) in different industries (including fashion, beauty, healthcare and tech).
You will learn to strategically use areas of communication practice such as digital, media relations, internal communications and public affairs, while developing your own personal brand and learning fascinating theories (like those about persuasion and social psychology).
We work with leading PR consultancies and our PR alumni, who teach on the course. Our students have secured placements at companies such as Apple, Disney, Ford and Sony. Our recent graduates now work at the BBC, Twitter and Weber Shandwick.

Year 1
Students are required to study the following compulsory modules.

- Personal Professional Development - PPD1 (15 credits)

Year 2
Students are required to study the following compulsory modules.
- Research Methods (MET) (15 credits)
- Personal & Professional Development 2 (PPD2) (15 credits)
- Content Management and Influencer Relations (30 credits)
- PR Planning (15 credits)
- PR Practice in Varied Industry Sectors (30 credits)
- Social Psychology and Persuasion for Communications (15 credits)
Year 3
Students are required to study the following compulsory modules.
- Research Project (30 credits)
- Communications Audit (15 credits)
- Ethics and Social Theory in Communications (15 credits)
- Public Affairs and Political PR (15 credits)
- Brand, Consumer and Technology PR (15 credits)
- Third Sector PR (15 credits)
- Corporate Communications (15 credits)
Entry Requirements
104 UCAS points from at least two A-levels. No more than 12 points should come from AS-levels.
Plus, GCSE English language or literature and mathematics at grade C / 4 or above.

- Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education
- Level 2 alternatives like Functional Skills and Key Skills for English and mathematics.
Assessment Methods
Each course has formal assessments which count towards your grade. Some courses may also include ‘practice’ assessments, which help you monitor progress and do not count towards your final grade.
