Course Description

Course suitability ATA is an assessment programme for experienced technicians working in the retail motor industry. It has the backing of major vehicle manufacturers, independent service and repair organisations and Automotive Skills, which is the Sector Skills Council for the retail motor industry. Entry qualifications Applicants should call the College to discuss the appropriate level for them. Information about the course Automotive Technician Accreditation is governed by the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), the professional association for those employed in the retail motor industry and the leading awarding body for vocational qualifications in the automotive sector. ATA is based on National Occupational Standards to ensure that it meets the skills requirements of the retail motor industry. Course content To achieve accreditation, a technician must pass a series of tests of practical skill and knowledge, at one of three levels: ? Service Maintenance Technician ? Diagnostic Technician ? Master Technician Additionality ATA is recognised as a benchmark for technician recruitment and training. When will I receive my results? Results will be forwarded on as soon as they are received at the college. Please note that certificates, where awarded, can take up to 4 months to be received at the college before forwarding on to learners.
