Course Description
This award is both a practice and theory-focused module designed to equip nurse practitioners working in the area of anaesthetics to develop the knowledge and the skills required to work in this specialist field. Designed to upskill registered nurses in the theatre setting, developed in consultation with an NHS Foundation Trust.
The Anaesthetic Award for Registered Nurses is awarded by BPP University.
The Anaesthetic Award for Registered Nurses is delivered by academics and expert practitioners in the field of Anaesthetics.
Designed to upskill registered nurses in the theatre setting, this module has been developed in consultation with an NHS Foundation Trust. Practice areas will provide a range of general and specialist experiences with different client groups depending on the availability of your employing organisation.
In addition, the reflective element of the assessment and the competency document would also contribute to the process of revalidation for registered nurses.
The module will include study days based in BPP Waterloo as well as online teaching materials utilised to support the taught sessions. Seminars in practice are used to make strong links between theory and practice.

Entry Requirements
- A registered nurse with current registration to practice completed at diploma level and
- At least one-year post-registration experience
- Must have the support of your employer with access to a mentor/supervisor who works in the area of anaesthetics and has had their expertise verified
Language requirements
IELTS or equivalent score of 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 7.0 for each component
Must be a registered Nurse with current registration to practice completed at Diploma Level and one-year post-registration experience on commencing the programme.
You also must have the support of your employer with access to a mentor/ supervisor who works in the area of anaesthetics and has had their expertise verified.
