Course Description
Aims of the course: Taught in the heart of one of the world's major financial capitals, this course has been specifically designed for those in accounting and finance who want to keep pace with today's rapidly changing business environment, or those wishing to move into this pivotal sector of the economy. The course takes a strategic look at current issues in the financial world, providing you with a range of skills, including the ability to critically analyse financial data and weigh up issues, and relate these to developments and shifts within the industry. Course Structure: You will take five core modules, an optional module and a dissertation of around 15,000 words. The core modules are: -Advanced Financial Reporting -Strategic Financial Management -International Business Finance and Investment -Research Methods in Accounting and Finance -Strategic Management: Control and Appraisal You also choose one of the following optional modules: -Mergers and Acquisitions -Corporate Strategy -Corporate Governance and Accountability -Strategic Information Management Assessment: A range of assessment methods are used including coursework, presentations, research projects, examinations and a written dissertation.
